Customer Service is growing

We have the pleasure of announcing that our customer service department is expanding. Indeed, we have two new colleagues with us. We welcome Sean (Customer Experience Advisor) and Charline (Customer Experience and Marketing Intern) who will both undoubtedly contribute to reach our goal: providing you with excellent customer service.
 
 
 

40 years already

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Stûv. Founded in 1983, STÛV has, over the years been able to distinguish itself by creating wood stoves and fireplaces with a minimalist design whose innovations have been esteemed many times. Today, Stûv has 3 manufacturing plants, two in Belgium and one in Canada and is distributed in more than 20 countries.

Installing a stove in front of a window?

One of the 5 most frequently asked questions to our team concerns the installation of a stove in front of a window.

The clearances to combustible materials and radiation for each unit, as indicated in all our installation manuals, must always be respected. Although the purpose of these instructions is to avoid a fire, we do not know the impact of such a configuration on a window. We therefore recommend that you advise your customers to check with the window manufacturer to determine the heat tolerance of the model they have chosen before proceeding with this type of installation.

Composite logs a good idea?

As indicated in our installation manuals, the use of composite logs should be avoided. The use of these logs, made of compressed wood, emit much more heat than a natural log and sometimes release residues that can prematurely damage a unit.

We therefore advise you to inform your customers and to insist that this is not a fuel to be used in a high efficiency unit.
