The energy efficiency or performance of a unit corresponds to the energy it releases compared to the energy it consumes. The higher the performance, the more efficient, economical and environmentally friendly the heating is.
When wood burns, it gives off smoke consisting of a mixture of gases and microscopic solid wood particles. This data indicates the per hour quantity of solid particles released by a device.
The heating surface area indicates the number of square feet that a unit can heat. However, the height of the ceilings, the number of storeys, the shape and quality of the insulation in a house can have an impact on the heating area indicated for each model.
This technical feature is used as a comparison to illustrate the loading capacity of a model. All Stûvs models offer full use of the combustion chamber and have been designed to accommodate standard 16″ logs and more.
The weight of an appliance is something you should consider for your project since you may need to have a professional confirm that the structure is strong enough to support the chosen model.
The difference in thermal expansion between two metal plates integrated at the base of the combustion chamber enables the fireplace to automatically regulate the air supply. The mechanism facilitates cold starts and then optimizes combustion during operation. The result is a more efficient and cleaner burn that meets applicable standards and certifications for fine particulate emissions.

An outside air intake has been incorporated into the legs to supply the fire with oxygen and ensure optimal combustion.

The s6-H offers the option of a horizontal flue outlet at the rear of the unit. This configuration provides greater flexibility and allows for a more discreet installation, making it ideal for projects where a clean, unobtrusive look is desired.

The hinged door on the s6-H stove features two hooks to ensure solidity and make the combustion chamber even more airtight.

The s6-H combustion chamber is made of cast iron. It provides high heat resistance, maximizes the stove’s performance, and delivers a gentle enveloping warmth.

The air required for combustion can either be taken from the room via the front of the appliance or from an outside air intake.
The air injected at the top of the combustion chamber allows the gases to be burned a second time, preventing fine particles from being released into the air.
Once the gases are burned, they are evacuated through the flue.
Air flow along the glass helps keep it clean while increasing the insert’s efficiency.
The ambient air gathered from the room through the front of the appliance moves along the combustion chamber, absorbing heat.
Once heated, this air exits naturally through the appliance's upper frame, spreading comforting warmth through the room.
